Automotive Skills
The B.Voc in Automotive Skills is an industry-integrated program modeled on the Swiss Dual System of Vocational Education. It prepares specialists in two key areas:
- Mechanical & Mechatronics
- Automotive Paint and Bodywork
The program is offered by the Automotive Skills in collaboration with the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), a national body representing over 15,000 dealerships. FADA supports student internships and placements.
Duration: 3 Years
Eligibility Criteria:
- 10+2 in any stream, or
- 2 years of ITI after 10th or
- Polytechnic Diploma holders are eligible for lateral entry admission
Selection Procedure: Entrance Exam followed by a personal interview.
B. Voc in Automotive Skills
The courses offered by Automotive Skills are conducted in collaboration with TATA Motors Passenger Vehicle Ltd and the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), an apex body of more than 15,000 automotive dealerships across India that is committed to support the internship and placement of the students.
Duration: 3 Years
- 6 Months at BSDU
- 6 Months Industry Workplace
Eligibility Criteria:
- 10+2 in any stream, or
- 2 years of ITI after 10th or
- Polytechnic Diploma holders are eligible for lateral entry admission
Infrastructure & Equipment
The Faculty offers the latest machinery imported from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Japan, etc. and has well-equipped labs:
- Mechatronics Lab
- Paint Workshop
- Body Workshop
- Vehicle Diagnostics Lab
- EV Lab
- Automotive Wheel Care workshop
- Automotive Powertrain Lab
- Aggregate Lab
Apart from this, the BSDU has a special ‘Hero Excellence Centre’ set up by Hero MotoCorp for students to get hands-on experience on Hero 2-wheelers.

Sunil Anand is Professor and Dean in the Automotive Skills Education, BSDU since April 2022. Before joining BSDU, he has worked with top universities including Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore, and SRHU Dehradun having total 11.5 years of experience in academic domain.
Apart from this he has also worked with various Automobile service industry for more than 15 years and during this undergone various trainings including Maruti Udyog Ltd, Ashok Leyland Etc.
